Fresh: Scott’s Thoughts for January 2020

Thank you to these words on novelty from Scott Hutchison, Registered Massage Therapist and Energy Rich Life Coach with Elan Family Wellness Centre, in Bowness, Calgary.

Often we arrive in January all full of hope for the new year.  The previous year gets described as tough or challenging or even a “dumpster fire”.  We look back and get hints of the good stuff… but mostly the rough stuff surfaces and that is where our attention and language to others is communicated.  And then we use hope as a strategy for our coming year.  Hope is lovely… and giving hope to others is fantastic… but it can be a lousy strategy without action and persistence towards something.  Not running away from those things that caused you the pain last year… but towards those hopes and dreams with efficient actions, razor sharp purpose and the ability to use energy to crystallize the thoughts in your head that will lead you down the path closer to your result… every day.  But it is easy to fizzle out in the routine.
Our January topic is fresh… Today I few to Denver and wrote a giant, perfectly formed article on the plane.  It’s was lovely… but I deleted it.  It was not congruent with seeking novelty (fresh things), other then writing on an airplane. It was just a derivative of other works I have written for the newsletter.  It was not fresh in content or energy.

What is fresh is the fact that I am down in Denver once again for a program with Donny Epstein. Something new to start the year.  And as I write this… the fire alarm is going off in the hotel!!!  And nobody is budging. People are unfazed. It’s loud. AND… they are investigating.
So…to inspire a few of you, I am running a little challenge. Novelty… in this case fresh, can be found all around us.  For the month of January, I intend to look for fresh things in all of the little steps I must take to achieve my goals for this month.  Novelty carries with it energy and that energy is pure gold!
Find your fresh.  Find your novelty.
Scott
