Warmth & Breath

Thank you to Dr Robert Clarke, Network Spinal Chiropractor at Elan Family Wellness Centre in Bowness, Calgary, for this breath exercise to connect with our inner wisdom.  As the days get longer and the warmth of sun grows stronger, we can reflect on how this year/decade has started. Have you developed a trajectory to guide you forward? It’s less about goals, it’s more about direction. How would you like things to be unfolding for you as you move though the next year/decade? With a direction in mind its good to check in with your heart and see if you are on track. Sit with your hands over your heart,  breathe in your nose, out your mouth, bringing the breath to your heart space. While connecting with your heart reflect on your path forward does your path have a positive effect on how your heart feels?  If so great!  If not, how can your course correct to change your trajectory to have your direction be more congruent with your heart? Nurturing Yourself

Thank you to Dr Robert Clarke, Chiropractor at Elan Family Wellness Centre, for this article on some ways to nourish yourself this March!  As the days get longer and we can feel spring in the air, the snow begins to melt nourishing the trees, the grass, and gardens. Nature has a natural cycle, naturally composting. Microbes in the soil are always actively transforming the leftovers from past years growth into nutrients to fuel and support new growth and so the cycle continues. As you move towards spring how are you nurturing yourself?  It's always good to take inventory before jumping into action. How active have you been over the winter, what has your diet been like? These types of questions will help you nourish yourself in the best way possible. With the winter we just had maybe you are feeling a bit of cabin fever, so you will want to get outdoors, go for a hike. It may be as simple as a walk around the block, taking a pause to feel the sun and wind on your face. Maybe a...

Tracker Journal

Image
It is that time-we're about to get carried away with school, kid's schedules, and events available at every opportunity! With school starting after Labour Day, I'm beating the rush this year and have started-a la Pinterest bullet journal style-a Habits Tracker. I have projects and habits that keep falling away in my to-do list and memory and thought the easiest way to establish them was with a visual tracking system. This was a plan to establish new habits, or track the ones I hit and miss with-so you're not going to see “Feed kids. Pick up kids. Shower.” I've got those ones down. September is all about Structure and Routines, so here's my next 30'ish day plan. Every time I complete an item, I get to mark it down! Top of my list was to incorporate Morning Rituals. For me this means starting the day in gratitude, visualizing my day, and creating some routine and rituals to energize this and stick to it. Most of the inspiration has come from Tim Ferr...
