What's this 21 Energy Rich Days Challenge?

Curious what happens behind the scenes during the 21 Energy Rich Days Challenge? We're proud of our current group of challengers-everyone has picked a personal project that they are working on-everything from decluttering to singing! I am working on writing my Solutions Workbook for an Energy Rich life and am happy to say that the pages are coming. We kick the challenge off with our Friday night presentation and goal commitment- we talk about energy states, the Triad of Change, throw in some Reorganizational chit chat, and help with goal setting. Week One has been a Behaviour Theme. That means taking action, perhaps without a solid structured plan. It may mean doing jumping jacks or going for a brisk walk before you sit down to your project. Week Two is a Structure Theme and is our current task. This is about making the lists, scheduling your goal in your day timer, and ensuring you have all the pieces to ensure success. Week Three is a Perception Theme. This m...

Scott's Thoughts: January Fresh

Elan's Theme for January is Fresh and here are some Thoughts from Scott, our Registered Massage Therapist and Allergy and Sensitivity Testing and Treatment Practitioner at the office.  Wow, what an astonishing year. I'm not talking about 2016... that's done and put to bed. I'm talking about 2017!!!! As we ease, crash and or appear with piles of energy into this new year, I would like to challenge you to find novelty with this following question. When is the last time you did anything for the first time? I'll ask it again and this time with some bold capitals.  WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU DID ANYTHING FOR THE FIRST TIME? It's a great question. For some of you, you will feel it in your body. Others, your breath will quicken as you read the line again. And some of you will start to imagine and dare I say... give yourself permission to dream for a second or two. This freshness of thought, action or even structural re framing of experience can be all that it...

Curiosity

Elan's Theme for January is Fresh~Here's Dr Lynn Hoffman-Tempel's Perspective on this and Meditation. Dr Lynn will be offering a Taming the Monkey Mind, a Mindfulness meditation night on Thursday, January 19th at 7:30 pm.  Welcome to a New Year and to a new season.  We understand this time as a time of new beginnings, it is also the time of year that is associated with the water element in Traditional Chinese Medicine.  The energies that support and surround us at this time of year encourage us to look deeply inwards, to be very curious about out own lives and experiences.  We are motivated to create change and momentum towards things that we would like to experience or be different.  I often hear from people – “I know what I need to do, why can’t I do it?”  Creating something new or different requires small or big changes made consistently over time.  How do we make this a reality in out lives – Be Curious!!!   Be Curious about yourself.  ...

Celebrate Your Life

Celebration is our Theme for December~ Thanks to Dr Rob for these words to help us celebrate! (also published in our Elan monthly newsletter)  Celebrate your life. This task is relatively easy when things are going your way. When challenges come up it becomes more difficult. Think back to the times in the past when you had challenges: How much did you learn and grow during those times? Times of adversity make us stronger, it's easy to reflect and see the blessing that our journey has brought us. Learning how to bring that into present time consciousness takes practice. The better you develop this skill the more quickly you grow and the easier it is to celebrate life every day, knowing that today is a building block for your future. So celebrate the amazing people in your life and the blessings that come your way. Cultivate the practice of seeing the gifts in the people who trigger you, the mistakes you make and bumps in the road. They are your greatest teachers. I celebrate ...

21 Energy Rich Days III (Behaviour)

It is not a coincidence that I happened to "forget" to post about the Behaviour week of our 21 Day Challenge. When I go behaviour, it seems that all else goes out the window and it is a week of just doing and feeling like my head has been chopped off.  Behaviour Week means that we Just Do. Take the Action. Jump. Don't make the list (unless the action of writing it down) or if you use some crazy mind map. Don't make a plan. Don't think about how you feel of why you do it.  Appropriately, I also planned a lot for myself for the week of Behaviour-there were things during the week, but it ended with 3 events back to back to back. I spoke to a Parent Council meeting at a local school on Seasons of Parenting; I put together a Brain Body Potential Program for a local Healthy Family Fridays AND our office co-hosted a Women's Networking event on the last day. That is what behaviour means to me.  It does mean that with respect to my personal challenge of being a M...
